Condominiums

Residential condominiums account for one out of every three new homes built in Ontario. In Toronto, condos make up 75 per cent of homes built since 2000 and in 2008, condos were 86 per cent of new homes.
These condos can be either high-rise or low-rise apartment style units, townhouses (some known as freehold condos), detached houses, stacked townhouses - any configuration of housing you can imagine. What makes them "Condominiums" is not their physical structure but the way in which owners have agreed to share the ownership of the common elements of the property, while retaining individual ownership of parts of the property which constitute their units.

Advantages of Buying a Condo
There are many advantages to purchasing a condo rather than a traditional home. Buying a condo is often cheaper than buying a house. Furthermore what attracts many to condominium living is the lifestyle that accompanies it. Condos are maintenance free (no shovelling snow, managing lawn, etc.), and can come with many amenities such as a party room, pool, recreation center, or gym. They tend to be very safe and those who like to travel can leave their home for extended periods of time without worry.
